Laut offizieller Aussage Official support for Magento 1 ends in June 2020!

This means there will be no more official security patches or version upgrades for Magento 1. Does that mean you absolutely must migrate your store to Magento 2 before support ends?

In the long run, switching to Magento 2 makes sense. Its architecture has been redesigned and improved, with better performance, scalability and capabilities compared with Magento 1. Extension and theme providers will also increasingly focus on Magento 2 and reduce support for Magento 1.

If you cannot or do not want to migrate immediately, there is also OpenMage Projekt, which lets you continue running Magento 1 with community-maintained updates and security patches. The patches are delivered differently from the former official Magento updates, but regular maintenance remains possible. Another commercial alternative is the security patches from https://mage-one.com/.
