The Challenge: Connecting Magento With Real-World Logistics
For online merchants, an order is only the beginning. Shipping data needs to reach the logistics provider, labels must be generated, and tracking information needs to be available without unnecessary manual steps.
Managing these processes across separate systems can be time-consuming and increases the risk of errors.
The objective was to bring the essential Planzer shipping operations directly into Magento 2, allowing merchants to manage their shipments within the familiar Magento administration.
The Solution: Planzer Connect for Magento 2
Planzer Connect provides a direct connection between Magento 2 and Planzer’s shipping infrastructure.
The extension communicates with Planzer through its API and integrates the shipping process into Magento’s existing order management workflow.
When creating a shipment, the merchant can choose to transmit the relevant shipping information directly to Planzer.
The integration then makes the shipping label and tracking information available within Magento.

Developed in Direct Collaboration With Planzer
An important aspect of this project was the direct collaboration with Planzer itself.
Rather than simply connecting Magento to an external service, the integration was developed with attention to the actual requirements of the logistics provider and the merchants using its services.
This collaboration helped turn the original SwissSent extension into Planzer Connect, an official Magento 2 integration for Planzer.
The software combines technical implementation with an understanding of practical shipping processes, from API communication to the daily work of Magento administrators.
What This Project Represents
For me, Planzer Connect is a good example of what individual Magento development should achieve.
The challenge is not simply to write code that communicates with an external API. It is to understand how different systems and business processes fit together, and then build a solution that makes everyday work easier.
With more than 15 years of Magento experience, I approach projects like this with a focus on maintainability, practical usability and long-term reliability.
