At the time of writing, official Magento 1 support is scheduled to end in June 2020. Many Magento users are still running Magento 1 stores. If you are one of them and do not want to, or cannot, migrate to Magento 2, what are your options?
There are two alternatives for store owners who want to continue using Magento 1: the free OpenMage project or commercial security patches from https://mage-one.com/.
If you would rather continue operating Magento 1, take a look at OpenMage. The project provides community-maintained patches and continues beyond Magento 1′s official support period.
